FAQ: Transport
Q. How do I get from the airport to Medjugorje? A. Our driver meets you at the airport with your name on a card and takes you directly to your apartment where one of our staff meets you and helps you to settle in. Q. How much does it cost to travel to Medjugorje? A. During the season we operate a bus service throughout the week that corresponds with flights to and from Ireland and the UK. Our bus service covers Dubrovnik, Split, Zadar and Sarajevo airports. Bus transfer is €25 each way per person and Zadar is €35 each way per person. In the event that there is no bus service available we can provide a mini-van at €25 per person each way with a minimum of 6 people or a taxi transport for 4 people for €120 each way. Please note that as Zadar is further away transport cost is higher. Q. Can I pay transport on arrival? A. No. We pay all transport bills before the driver departs. In the event of a bus breaking down, another bus is sent to collect you. Q. How long does it take to travel to and from the airport? A. With the construction of the new highways, transport time has been dramatically reduced. Transport to and from Split, Dubrovnik and Sarajevo is approximately 2 - 2.5 hours and Zadar is 3 – 3.5 hours. Q. Can I book transport even if I have not made a reservation with the Medjugorje Irish Centre? A. Certainly. You can do so by making your transport reservation on the transport notice board of this website or by calling our office on: Tel: 00387 36 351 518.
FAQ: Food:
Q. Where is the food served? A. The food is served in the Irish Centre restaurant beside the Church. We find this is good because everyone spends their time close to the Church anyway but the real benefit is no fixed meal time, so come whatever time suits you. Q. How do I pay for my meals? A. Before you arrive we prepare a welcome pack in your apartment and inside are meal vouchers that you give to the waiter at the start of your meal. You can book your accommodation without meals and purchase them later at the Irish Centre reception. Q. What do I get from my meal? A. Essentially you have your choice from over 25 meals from the Irish Centre restaurant menu and unlimited tea and coffee during meal times. If you want something outside the menu or drinks from the bar you will have to pay the difference. The menu is included in your welcome pack and the guest menu inside the Irish Centre restaurant’s menu. Q. Can I refund my meal vouchers before I go home? A. No, meal vouchers cannot be re-funded but they can be used the next time you come to Medjugorje or given to another pilgrim. Q. Why buy meal vouchers? A. It actually works out cheaper purchasing your meals this way. You have the options of breakfast only, half board or full board plus the benefit of saving a few euro and having your meals at whatever time suits you.
